Our custom wedding suit FAQs answer common questions about pricing, timeline, fittings, alterations, and what to expect when working with
M & M Suit Shop.
Our primary focus is custom wedding suits for women and AFAB nonbinary clients. We also create other custom pieces by request, including vests, shirts, overcoats, and business wear.
Our custom process takes about three months from your first appointment to your final fitting.
Our custom process requires a minimum of three months. We are not able to take clients with wedding dates sooner than that, as rushing compromises both fit and quality.
A mock suit is a sample version of your jacket and pants that allows us to test fit, proportions, and design before your final suit is made.
Our suits are produced by a trusted manufacturing partner that specializes in custom tailored garments. We oversee the design, fit, and quality standards for every piece that is created for our clients.
Because each suit is made specifically for the person wearing it, production takes place through our manufacturing partner rather than being sewn in house.
Your initial consultation may be held virtually or in person. All appointments after that, including measurements, mock suit fittings, and final fittings, are in person at our studio.
Our studio is very small and intentionally intimate. We recommend bringing no more than two to three guests.
You can start by visiting our Booking page, where we walk you through what happens and how to get scheduled. From there, you will be able to choose a time on our calendar.
Changes are welcome during the mock suit phase. Once you approve your mock suit and your final suit enters production, the design is locked in.
Your mock suit and final fitting give you the opportunity to review fit and design before your suit leaves our studio. Minor fit adjustments may still be needed after final production, which is common with custom garments.
Most clients invest between $1,100 and $4,000 for their custom wedding suit, depending on fabric and design. Full pricing details are available on our Pricing page.
We collect payment in stages throughout the process. The mock suit is paid for at or shortly after your consultation if you choose to move forward. The design fee is due a few days before your customization appointment. The remaining balance for your final suit is due after your mock suit is approved.
We refer clients to a trusted local alteration partner. Alterations are arranged and paid for directly with the tailor.
Final suits are picked up during an in person fitting at our studio. In rare cases, we may approve shipping for clients who have traveled from far away.
Yes. You are welcome to bring your own buttons, and we can also create a fully custom lining based on a photo, pattern, or meaningful image. A custom lining from an image is an additional fee.
We focus on tailoring, fit, and fabric selection for your suit. At this time, we do not offer custom embellishments such as capes, embroidery, or decorative add ons.
We are an appointment only studio. We are not able to accommodate walk ins.
We do not have a restroom available for client use, so we recommend planning accordingly. Starbucks is right up the road.
We are based in Charlotte, North Carolina and welcome both local and virtual clients for initial consultations.
Absolutely. Our studio is an affirming and inclusive space. Discrimination is never tolerated.
